Teen Patti Master Game: A Complete Overview
Everything about the game in one place: the table, a round from start to finish, every mode, and where to go next.

The Teen Patti Master game takes India's favourite three-card game and puts it on a digital table. Whether you play in an app or with a real deck at home, the heart of the game is the same: three cards each, a pot in the middle, and a choice every turn between betting, folding and bluffing.
This page is an overview of the whole game. It explains the table, walks through a round, covers every popular mode and points you to the detailed guides. New to the name itself? Our Teen Patti Master home page explains the basics.
What kind of game is it?
Teen Patti is a vying game: players bet on whose hand is best, and a player can win either by holding the strongest cards or by making everyone else fold. It grew out of British three-card brag and is a close cousin of poker, but it is faster and simpler, and it has two features of its own: blind play and the side show. Our Teen Patti vs poker comparison explains the differences in detail.
The Teen Patti Master table
Whether on a screen or a real table, you will find the same elements:
| Element | What it does |
|---|---|
| Seats | Usually up to five or six players around the table. |
| Boot | The small amount every player puts in to start the pot. |
| Pot | All bets collected in the middle; the winner takes it. |
| Stake | The current minimum bet, which rises as players raise. |
| Dealer | Deals the cards; in apps, a dealer marker moves each round. |
| Timer | In apps, each player has a few seconds to act. |
How a round works
Boot and deal
Everyone posts the boot and receives three cards face down.
Blind or seen
Each player chooses to stay blind (bet 1× to 2× the stake without looking) or to look and play seen (bet 2× to 4×).
Betting turns
Going clockwise, players chaal (bet to stay in) or pack (fold). Seen players may ask the previous seen player for a side show.
The finish
When only one player is left, they win the pot. When two remain, either can ask for a show and the higher hand wins.

Other games you will find alongside it
Apps built around Teen Patti often include other card games. They are different games with different odds:
- Rummy: a skill game about forming sets and sequences, in Points, Deals and Pool formats.
- Poker: five-card hands with community cards; slower and deeper than Teen Patti.
- Andar Bahar: you guess which side a matching card will land on, which is almost pure chance.
- Dragon vs Tiger: one card each, the higher card wins; also pure chance.
Skill or luck?
Every deal is random, so luck decides any single round. Over many rounds, though, good decisions add up: folding weak high-card hands, using blind play to keep costs low, and asking for a show only when your hand is strong. Our Teen Patti tips turn those ideas into simple habits, and the Teen Patti Master 2027 guide includes a 7-day practice plan.
Table etiquette for home games
- Agree on house rules before the first deal: A-2-3, ties, pot limit and side show.
- Act in turn and announce clearly: "chaal", "pack" or "show".
- Don't look at a neighbour's cards or comment on a hand still in play.
- Play for points, chips or matchsticks, and stop when the fun stops.
Playing the game safely
If you play on a phone, read our Teen Patti Master app review first: it covers permissions, scams and what to check before installing. Online money games are prohibited in India under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, so free tables and home games for points are the way to enjoy the game.
Teen Patti Master game: FAQs
What kind of game is Teen Patti Master?
It is a three-card vying game: each player gets three cards and bets on having the best hand, or on convincing others to fold. It is closely related to British three-card brag and to poker.
How many players can play one Teen Patti Master game?
Online tables usually seat up to five or six players. At home, 3 to 6 players works best.
Which game mode is best for beginners?
Classic. Once you are comfortable, try Joker or AK47, which keep the same rules but add wild cards.
Is Teen Patti Master a game of skill or luck?
Both. The cards are random, but decisions such as when to stay blind, when to pack and when to ask for a show make a real difference over many rounds.
Are Andar Bahar and Dragon vs Tiger the same as Teen Patti?
No. They are separate games that are often bundled in the same apps, and both depend almost entirely on chance.
Can I play the Teen Patti Master game offline?
Yes. All you need is a 52-card deck and friends. Playing for points at home is the safest way to enjoy the game.
