Teen Patti Master FAQ

Teen Patti Master is the name of a popular mobile app built around Teen Patti, India's traditional three-card game. The name is also copied by many unofficial clone apps, so it's worth learning how to tell them apart. On this site we explain the game itself: rules, hand rankings and variations.

The core game is the same: three cards per player, the same hand rankings, and the same blind, seen, side show and show actions. Apps usually add extra modes and variations, such as AK47, Muflis and Joker, on top of the classic rules.

A Trail of three Aces (A-A-A) is the strongest possible hand. Next comes the rest of the Trails, then Pure Sequence, Sequence, Color, Pair and finally High Card.

Most people pick up the basics in one sitting, often in 15 to 20 minutes. Memorise the six hand rankings and understand blind versus seen, and you can follow any table. Reading other players well takes a lot longer.

Chaal means placing a bet to stay in the round. Blind players chaal at 1× to 2× the stake, and seen players at 2× to 4×.

At least two, but 3 to 6 is ideal. With more than 7 the game slows down and the deck feels thin.

A small fixed amount every player puts in before the deal. It makes sure every round has a pot worth playing for, and sets the first stake.

Not really. It's a multi-player betting game. To learn alone, deal hands for three imaginary players and decide who wins. It's a good way to practise the rankings.

Both. The deal is pure luck, but deciding when to stay blind, when to pack and when to push takes skill. Over a single round luck dominates; over many rounds, good decisions matter.

Both are three cards in a row. A Pure Sequence is all one suit (like 7♥ 8♥ 9♥) and ranks second, just below a Trail. An ordinary Sequence has mixed suits and ranks third.

In most home games a player who can't match the stake can call for a show with what they have left, or must pack. Agree on this before starting.

Any method works, such as cutting for the highest card. After the first round, the deal passes clockwise.
